BRITAIN’s “most expensive council house” has hit the market for a whopping £3.5million and its owner insists the price is fair.
Accountant Miroslav Nikolov is asking for three times the price he paid for the London home because of the £1.4million he spent doing it up.

The former council house was first built in the 1950s over a WW2 bomb crater and was initially used as housing for Met officers.
He told the Daily Mail that: “I spent £1.4million renovating the house after I bought it…I don’t know if it will sell, but we will see.”
Miroslav bought the Canonbury home in 2015 for £1.2million and has now expanded the semi-detached four bedroom home to 3650sq ft.
The home now has four floors with a new basement that added a third onto the size. Miroslav also built a cinema room that doubles as a bar.

The accountant has kept the same number of bedrooms at four, three of which have en-suites.
It’s Zoopla description says: “This family home has undergone a beautiful remodel, done to the highest specifications throughout, and is situated on a wide, tree-lined street in Canonbury.
“Spanning four floors, the property offers fantastic proportions and a well thought out layout.
“The ground floor comprises a spacious reception room flooded with natural light, a generously sized eat-in kitchen dining area with direct access to the rear garden, a utility room, and a guest cloakroom.”

The bedrooms are upstairs, with the lower ground floor including a living space, bedroom, family bathroom, the cinema which doubles as a bar.
Miroslav and his wife Srebrina also own a second home on the same street which they have also renovated.

Another neighbour said that they would likely put their house on the market if he received the £3.5m price.
They said: “They’ll never get that, even with a basement put into it. His other property on the road is very nice, he put a lot of effort into the renovations. But £3million will be silly.
“Most of the little houses along here range from £1.3-1.8million depending on what they have done to them.”
Some neighbours thought Miroslav was being “savvy” and would likely get the price.
Viewers on social media lambasted the price saying London’s prices were “crazy”.
One said: “Utterly bonkers, I’ll never get the fascination with wanting to live near London.”
Another said: “Who’s paying £3.5 million for a four bed semi-detached? It’s absurd.”
A third posted: “It’s a different country compared to the rest of the UK. Complete rip off.”
According to Righmove, the average sale price in the area is £979,440.

Flats were slightly cheaper, going for £643,757, while terraced homes sold for £1.6million.
