What’s the difference between Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

Black Friday is the day after the Thanksgiving – in 2021 that was November 26.

Each year, big retailers like Amazon, Argos and Morrisons use Black Friday to give massive price reductions to shoppers just before Christmas kicks in.

But just because Black Friday has been and gone, doesn’t mean you’ve missed your chance to get a good deal.

The discounts keep on going until Cyber Monday, which is always the first Monday after Black Friday, so this year it falls on November 29.

Apart from these days, there are a couple of other differences between the two, one is that Cyber Monday deals only apply to online shops while Black Friday is in store as well.

Also, Cyber Monday is a strictly 24-hour shopping window but in recent years Black Friday has tended to be a five-day long affair.

Which day is best for discounts?

It’s difficult to say categorically which day is better for discounts because the answer depends on what you’re looking to buy.

If you’re hoping to bag a bargain in technology, small appliances, cutlery, kitchenware or Apple products then Black Friday could be best for you.

There’s always plenty of deals on tech.

But, if you’re looking for clothing, toys, shoes or beauty, you should consider shopping on Cyber Monday as previous years have had better price reductions on the day.

The latest research suggests Brits will spend £2.4million a minute today in a record shopping spree.

They will blow £3.5billion to make Cyber Monday bigger than even Black Friday.

What deals are available on Cyber Monday 2021?

Many of the deals have simply continued on from Friday when they first launched for savvy shoppers to claim during the day of discounts.

But lots of retailers launched their deals early this year, meaning shoppers have had plenty of time to bag a bargain.

We’ve rounded up the best deals, including a £99 saving on a Tefal air fryer and £35 off a coffee machine.
