Aldi is selling this giant bottle of port for £99.

Port jeroboams are often found at more expensive retailers, but this is the first time Aldi has sold one.

It says the 10-year-old Tawny Port is “rich and elegant combining aromas of fruit, a hint of nuttiness and subtle notes of chocolate, oak wood and butterscotch”.

Aldi suggests serving it with Christmas pudding, desserts, walnuts and cheese boards.

It will only be available on the Aldi website, not in stores, and you can snap one up from 9 November. Delivery is free if your order costs more than £30.

Port only lasts for a few weeks once you pop the top though, so only consider buying it if you’re confident it won’t be abandoned at the back of the cupboard.

If you’re not sure whether you’ll get through the entire gallon, Aldi also has a 75cl bottle of 40-year-old tawny port for £34.99.

It also has a budget-friendly ruby port for £6.49 – meaning you could get 15 bottles for the same price as the Jeroboam.

Other supermarkets also have lots of offers on at the moment for fortified wine fans getting ready for the festive season.

At Sainsbury’s you can get a 75cl bottle of Taylor’s Late Bottled Vintage Port for £10 instead of £15, while Tesco has the same offer on a 1l bottle of Cockburn’s Special Reserve Port until 16 November.

Asda is selling the 75cl Cockburn’s Special Reserve for £7.50 rather than £12, and has also rolled back its Dow’s Crusted Port from £17.50 to £13.50.

It is also selling a £4 Shiraz-Merlot that just won gold in an international wine competition.

Meanwhile, Aldi and Saisnbury’s have just launched the first bottles of of pink prosecco in the UK.
