You can pre-order it online at Aldi from October 25 for delivery from November 1. Delivery costs £3.95 (it’s free on orders over £30) or it’s £2.95 for delivery to a CollectPlus destination.

Shoppers can also get their hands on the calendar in stores from November 1. Use Aldi’s store locator tool to find your nearest.

On the calendar itself it says: “Countdown to Christmas with Peppa and George! Find a surprise mini storybook behind each door, plus a special Christmas story for Christmas Eve.”

It adds: “Put the books back inside the windows so you can reuse your advent book collection every year.”

Parents report finding the same Peppa Pig book calendar in store at Tesco for £10, although the supermarket couldn’t find it on its systems when The Sun asked it to check – so it’s best not to make a special trip just in case.

Others say they snapped it up for £10 over Amazon’s Prime Day sale event this week, although it’s now back up to £15.06 at Amazon, plus £2.99 delivery.

WHSmith is also selling the same calendar for £15.99. It charges £2.49 for delivery (it’s free on orders over £25) or £1.49 for click and collect.

Shoppers on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group are keen to get hold of it after one shopper posted a picture of the calendar. One person wrote: “Either want this [Peppa Pig] or the Disney one for Ella when we are next out!” Someone else added: “Maisie would love this.”

If your kids are too old for Peppa Pig, Aldi will also sell Marvel superhero and Disney advent calendars for £9.99, which contain 24 books each and will be available online and in stores from the same dates as above.

For adults who like to join in the festive fun, Aldi is also selling wine and Prosecco advent calendars for £49.99 and £59.99 respectively.

Elsewhere, Asda is selling a Peppa Pig advent calendar but this contains toys rather than books and costs a pricier £18.

And here’s how to get a Thorntons Christmas advent calendar for £15 for free using cashback.
