When is Black Friday 2020?

Black Friday 2020 takes place on November 27.

It follows Thanksgiving in America, which occurs on the third Thursday of November, and sees stores across the pond slash prices the following day so people can bag incredible deals.

Offers usually continue over the weekend, now commonly referred to as Cyber Weekend and then onto Cyber Monday.

But sometimes retailers start sales a few days early, so make sure you keep an eye on Amazon’s website throughout the week, if not sooner.

Deals site Money Saver Online predicted that Amazon would start launching Black Friday deals from the end of October – and it was right.

What can we expect from Amazon’s Black Friday sale in 2020?

Amazon tends to put a large amount of its stock on sale during the annual event, with toys, homewares and health and fitness products all being slashed last year.

While Amazon hasn’t revealed what deals it will have in place for this year’s event, its Amazon Prime Day event – where Prime members get discounts on items across the website from October 13 to October 14 – is typically tech heavy.

Amazon told us that over Prime Day, there will be more than 1million deals going live globally from brands including Philips, Toshiba, Nescafe, Lego, Nintendo, Shark, Samsung, Under Armour, Sony, and Le Creuset.

This could mean that shoppers will also see heavy discounts on tech, kitchenware and toys during Black Friday sales too.

What Amazon Black Friday deals were available last year?

Some offers that the online giant had last year included:

  • Sony DSC-HX350 Digital Compact Bridge Camera with 50x Optical Zoom £199 (save £180)
  • Sylvanian Families Town – Grand Department Store £69.99 (save £50)
  • Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Electric Toothbrush £89.99 (save £209.01)
  • Royce Union RTT 21-Speed Mountain Bike £216.53 (save £149.42)
  • Shark Lift-Away Upright Vacuum Cleaner £119.99 (save £130)
  • Citerna Women’s 9 ct Yellow Gold Cubic Zirconia Three Stone Ring £184.95 (save £55)

Will there be exclusive deals for Amazon Prime members?

While we’re not entirely sure what Amazon will do this year, last year it had an exclusive 30-minute early access to all lightning deals in the sale for Prime customers.

Prime membership costs £79 a year or £7.99 a month. New users can get a free 30-day trial.

Does Amazon offer any other discounts?

Students can get Amazon Prime for free for six months. After the trial ends, you can get 50% off full Prime membership making it £3.99 a month.

You must be a UK student aged 18+, with an .ac.uk email address, or if you’ve not got one of those, send an email from the address that’s linked to your Amazon account to [email protected] giving proof of enrolment.

How much will my Amazon delivery cost?

If you’ve got Amazon Prime, your delivery fee will be free.

Amazon typically offers free delivery on orders over £20 if you’re happy for your purchase to arrive three to five business days after you’ve bought it from the company itself.

Otherwise its fees start from £2.99. You can see the full list of Amazon’s shipping costs here.

For orders from third party sellers on Amazon, prices can vary depending on the seller, so make sure you check out how much a product is, with shipping, before purchasing it.
