Apple may be preparing a new accessory perfect for Barbie fans, as the upcoming iPhone 15 is rumoured to come in pink.

Serial Apple leaker, ShrimpApplePro, revealed the upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus could be available in the colour.

The rumours come in the run up to the hotly-anticipated Barbie movie, and as it hits theatres, the demand for all things pink is likely to sky rocket.

ShrimpApplePro’s intel comes from a Foxconn employee who claims to have seen ‘green, light yellow and pink’ iPhone 15 models in the flesh.

A source on the Chinese site Weibo supported the colourful claims and said Apple will make the upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus in a bright shade of green, according to 9to5Mac.

Forms of pink have been seen numerous times before – with a rose gold shade kickstarted by the iPhone 6S in 2015, and the best-selling coral iPhone XR in 2015.

The pink colour option was last offered on the iPhone 13 models, released in 2021.

And, while it hasn’t been confirmed which shade of pink the rumoured phone will come in,  eager fans took to Twitter in celebration.

One wrote: ‘The hot pink iPhone 15 will sell like hot cakes, people have been asking for this colour for years.’

Another drastically claimed: ‘If Apple actually releases the iPhone 15 in hot pink, I would literally kill to get one.’

But fans will have to wait to get their hands on the Barbiecore iPhone as the new phone is likely to be released in September of this year.

The company traditionally debuts its next generation of iPhones each September.

The standard iPhone 14 launched in five colours – Midnight, Starlight, Product (RED), blue, and purple – with the additional colour option, yellow, arriving months later.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max launched in four colours: Space Black, silver, gold, and Deep Purple.

But, an Apple expert told DailyMail.com that the upcoming model will be a game changer.

Dan Ives, an industry insider with Wedbush Securities, predicts the new smartphone will have more battery power, better camera tech, a new design – all coming at a $100 to $200 price increase.

He said that it is only a matter of time before Apple moves further into artificial intelligence – and the iPhone 15 could be its stepping stone.

The managing director believes the Health app could have AI capabilities to improve data collection on heart rate, breathing and sleeping.

And there may even be a separate App Store dedicated to AI-powered apps.
