ARGOS shoppers have been left delighted after spotting its free Christmas gift guide is back in stores – despite the retailer scrapping its catalogue.
The store chain announced it would stop printing its catalogue after almost 50 years as customers increasingly shop online.

But despite its catalogue being no-more, Argos is still doing its traditional “Book of Dreams” Christmas gift guide.
The book contains Christmas present inspiration, including toys, tech and stocking fillers.
It’s different to the main catalogue, in that it focuses just on Christmas ideas, as opposed to the entire Argos range.
Posting on the Latest Deals, Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group, one shopper said: “Not sure if people have said but Argos have brought out a Christmas gift guide! We can circle what we want again.”

Replying to the post, another customer said: “Please can you get me one.”
A second shopper said: “Get stocked up!”
A third commented: “I use to do this every year with my children and grandchildren. Use to keep them quiet then you can pick stuff they want.”
Argos previously told The Sun that its Christmas gift guide would continue to be printed, despite axing its catalogue.
The retailer is also advertising it on its website with the following message: “Brimming with trending tech, stocking fillers, twinkling treasures and more.
“Get your hands on this year’s gift guide for all the ideas and inspiration you’ll need to make this Christmas mega.
“A one-stop shop for tree-mendous gifts everyone will have on their wish list.”
The catalogue, meanwhile, was axed in July 2020 in a move that devastated customers.
But its demise had long been coming, with Argos reportedly scrapping it in some stores back in 2017.
The catalogue was first launched in 1972 and had been running for 48 years.
Two editions were printed each year for customers to take home or to browse in stores.

In more Argos news, the retailer has launched a half price toy sale with discounts on Peppa Pig and Lego.
Argos was recently mocked for selling a pair of curtains that look like cigarettes – but they soon sold out.
In an update last months, Argos confirmed its shoppers could now earn Nectar points on purchases.
