We’ve picked out some of the best bargains from the Argos half price sale

The sale could be a good chance for parents to stock up on Christmas presents with the big day just seven weeks away.

However, buying anything close to Black Friday – which falls on November 27 – is always a gamble as you never know what could be included in sales later this month.

That being said, there is also no way to tell if prices could go up between now and Black Friday.

We don’t yet know what Argos has planned for its Black Friday sales.

But the best way to tell if you’re getting a good deal is to compare prices – we explain how to do this below.

How to compare prices to get the best deal

JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

Here are some that we recommend:

  • Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
  • Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
  • Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
  • CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.

The Argos toy sale is available online now with the discounts finishing tomorrow, November 4.

You can view everything included in the sale online now.

Argos hasn’t said whether its standalone shops will remain open in England when the country enters a second lockdown this Thursday, November 5.

Stores within Sainsbury’s supermarkets are expected to stay open for both click and collect and new orders. The same applies to shops in Scotland and Northern Ireland.

In Wales, standalone shops are closed and you can only collect pre-paid for items inside Argos Sainsbury’s stores. Customers aren’t able to place a new order in stores.

Click and collect is free from Argos, or delivery charges start from £3.95.
