The pharmacy chain first started slashing prices from Christmas Eve.

Online shoppers will need to take into account the delivery costs which will eat into any savings made.

Boots charges between £3.50 and £5.50 for the service depending on when you want it to arrive.

The Boxing Day discounts will then be available in stores from December 27, when most branches reopen.

The opening times will vary from store to store so check your local branch’s hours before you go.

If you’d rather pick up your online order in store, you can pay £1.50 for click and collect on purchases over £20.

How to compare prices to get the best deal

JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn’t mean it’s always a good deal.

There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.

Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.

Here are some that we recommend:

  • Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
  • Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
  • Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
  • CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.

But before you part with your cash, always compare the deal with elsewhere as lots of retailers will be slashing prices after Christmas.

Here are our top picks from the Boots Boxing Day sale.

This anti-ageing skincare collection has been slashed by 24% and contains a full size double serum (50ml), a beauty flash balm (15ml) and natural lip perfector 01 rose shimmer (5ml).

Individually, the double serum alone costs £78 at Boots, while the flash balm and lip perfector usually come in 50ml and 12ml respectively so we don’t have an exact price for the sizes which come in the giftset.

But according to Boots, the products in the gift set add up to more than £95, so you already saved £17 before it was even reduced.

In the sale, you will save £19.50 and so a total of £36.50 on the true value of the Clarins products.

It’s difficult to tell whether you would get a better price on these cars if you bought them elsewhere. But the boots deal on the gift set was the best deal that we could find.

But for a slightly different option from Clarins, John Lewis is selling the Super Restorative Collection Skincare set for £50.25 reduced from £75 – for £8.25 less.
