The near certainty of a status-quo policy meeting for the Federal Reserve next week has some observers looking down the road at possible new frontiers for central bank stimulus.

The Fed meets on Tuesday and Wednesday and there is virtually no expectation policy makers will change anything of note, and will instead maintain their near zero interest rate stance and press forward with an aggressive campaign of bond buying.
