PRICE rise after price rise has turned many off Netflix and other mainstream streaming apps.

And most people can’t see beyond the big six apps that dominate the streaming sphere: Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Apple TV, Now and Paramount – but they’re missing out.

There’s several high-quality streaming apps to check out – and some are even free.

And if you’re sick of scrolling through the same movies on mainstream apps – you’re going to need to branch out.

That’s where Mubi steps in.

Mubi is a streaming service that specialises in the indie, arthouse movies that wind up at film festivals.

It’ll have movies that you won’t find on its big-name rivals.

As Mubi puts it: “We believe cinema should be viewed on screens of all shapes and sizes.

“Our curators scour film festivals for the most exciting and original new films, which we bring to the big screen with the same care and attention we give to our curated platform.”

And viewers love it.

On HotUKDeals – where the current offer is being advertised – one viewer wrote : “Highly recommend Mubi. It does have some mainstream films, but it generally specialises in classics, indies, foreigns, acclaimed.

“Titles you might not find on Netflix, Prime, etc.

“You can also build a watchlist, and (correct me if I’m wrong) lists of titles, lists of favourite actors, directors, other crew members too.”

Another said they “can’t recommend MUBI enough,” calling it “the best streaming service for movies.”

A third person even said they “binned Netflix long ago and started this service which is great.”

A fourth fan wrote: “Been around for a good few years now. Steadily improved over time, until now it’s the number 1 service for streaming films from across the globe in my opinion.”

What’s the deal?

Mubi has just resurrected a promotion deal for both new and previous subscribers: three months for just £1.

The offer launched on 2 February – and it’s unclear how long it will run for.

In 2022, Mubi retired the offer after just 10 days, so you may need to act fast.
