Public radio station blames technical glitch for publishing premature death notices online

France’s RFI public radio has apologised after mistakenly publishing obituaries for a number of living people, including the Queen and the Brazilian footballer Pele.

Citing a “technical problem” that caused the death notices to be released on its website on Monday, the broadcaster said: “We offer our apologies to the people concerned and to you who follow and trust us.
