As a result, hospitality businesses including restaurants, pubs and cafes are temporarily shut.

But while diners can’t eat in, fast food places are allowed to offer takeaway food and delivery services.

It means you can still tuck into your favourite fast food grub – just from the comfort of your home.

The new rules apply to England only – Scotland and Wales have separate coronavirus restrictions in place.

Unlike the first lockdown, pubs are only allowed to serve takeaway pints if they’re ordered in advance.

If you’re ordering food for delivery, keep in mind you’ll likely pay extra for the luxury of getting it delivered to your door.

Delivery charges between the major providers – including Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats – will vary depending on the restaurant you choose and how far away you are.

Here’s which places remain open for takeaway and delivery:

Burger King

Restaurants are continuing to offer drive-thru, takeaway and delivery during the second lockdown.

The chain runs home delivery options through Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats, while click and collect is available through its website.

Burger King doesn’t charge extra for click and collect. You should check with your local branch to find out if it’s open to avoid disappointment.

Caffe Nero

Caffe Nero is still offering takeaway in stores, as well as home delivery through Uber Eats.

In addition, customers are able to click and collect as normal through the Caffe Nero app.

Costa Coffee

Costa Coffee confirmed to customers on Twitter that it is still offering takeaway, delivery and click and collect options.

Customers can order for home delivery through Uber Eats, while click and collect – which doesn’t cost extra – is done through the Costa app.

In addition, Costa also operates drive-thrus and these remain open.

Domino’s

Like last time, Domino’s remains open during the first lockdown for delivery and takeaway orders.

Domino’s doesn’t charge extra for delivery or click and collect, both of which can be ordered directly through Domino’s website.

Five Guys

Five Guys is offering both takeaway and delivery during the second lockdown.

Takeaway, which doesn’t cost extra, can be ordered through the Five Guys website and app, or delivery is done through Deliveroo.

The burger chain also offers “curbside” collection where customers order through the Five Guys website first and their food is brought out to their car.

Franco Manca

Franco Manca continues to offer delivery and click and collect in “almost every” restaurant – but it hasn’t said how many.

Currently, Franco Manca offers delivery through Deliveroo, or order and collect through its website.

The pizza chain doesn’t charge more for click and collect.

Frankie & Benny’s

A selection of Frankie & Benny’s restaurants are open for takeaway and click and collect during lockdown.

You can find out if your local branch is on the list on the chain’s website.

At the moment, customers can order for home delivery via Uber Eats and Just Eat, or click and collect, which is free to do, from the Frankie and Benny’s website.

Fridays

Fridays – formerly known as TGI Fridays – is continuing to operate click and collect and delivery at 20 restaurants.

The majority of restaurants run its delivery service through Deliveroo or Just Eat, or direct through the Fridays website for its Fareham and Cheadle branches.

Greggs

It’s good news for Greggs fans, as the bakery chain has confirmed customers are able to order food to take away or for delivery.

Greggs delivery can be ordered through Just Eat, while click and collect – which doesn’t cost extra – is done through the Greggs website or through the free Greggs Rewards app.

Customers can also place orders in stores, but again, food must be eaten away from the premises.

In an email to customers, it said it will keep as many open as possible but it hasn’t confirmed which ones.

At the moment, it offers delivery through Deliveroo and Uber Eats.

Click and collect, which doesn’t cost extra, is also available through the Leon website.

Pizza Hut

Shake Shack

Branches in Soho and Leicester Square in London and the Lakeside restaurant in Essex will close temporarily until December.

The rest of its dine-in restaurants, which are all located in London – Mansion House, Brent Cross, Westfield Stratford, Canary Wharf, Covent Garden, Tottenham Court Road and Victoria Nova – are open for delivery and click and collect.

Its Cardiff restaurant, which has been shut due to restrictions in Wales, will reopen for delivery and takeaway on November 9.
