HUMANOID robots could be a large benefit to small businesses, according to one expert.

The U.S. Sun spoke with Professor Luis Sentis who thinks the development of AI humanoids will have many benefits.

“I prefer to see the view of augmentation of people,” Sentis explained when asked about humanoid concerns.

This means he’d like to see robots enhance what humans can do and assist them rather than cause issues.

Although Sentis admits there are valid concerns when it comes to people fearing humanoids, the professor prefers to look at all the positives things robots could do and the people they could help.

“Especially people that need to help to get started,” he continued.

“Young people for instance with small businesses.”

Sentis gave the example of trying to open a winery or a flower shop with limited funds.

“You don’t have enough money to hire enough people so you can have a robot that can do more things.

“It’s easy to train, it can put things in boxes more rapidly, and it can move things around.

“So, to be able to see the part of robots helping small businesses is really appealing.”

Humanoids also don’t requite a salary, sleep, or career progression.

The price of robots like this does vary depending on the brand and remains high due to a limited number of them being created.

Billionaire Elon Musk is working on his Tesla Optimus humanoid and has previously hinted it would cost less than $20,000.

Sentis and his colleagues are also working on a robot called Draco 3.

This humanoid is already capable of performing simple tasks.

Draco 3 can make coffee, and simple meals, and could one day clean dishes in your home.

Sentis and his colleagues hope the price of humanoids will reduce if they become more mainstream.
