Easter is here and many will want to know which brand has the best offering

We compared supermarket own-brand eggs and there was a clear winner that scored top marks on both taste and price – beating M&S and Waitrose.

Branded eggs were put to the test as well, with the winner coming in top over both Cadbury and Lindt.

Luxury eggs were also taste tested. These luxurious treats can cost serious bucks but our winner came in at a palatable £15.

And you can spend under £3 on an egg for kids to get good quality chocolate that will keep them happy come Easter morning.

Opt for a supermarket own-brand egg can save you a wad of cash at Easter – and better yet, it doesn’t mean you need to compromise on taste.

The winner was Sainsbury’s Taste The Difference Belgian Honeycomb Corn Crunch Egg, tasting better than many luxury brands and it only costs £8.

The egg aims to recreate the nostalgic flavour of traditional Easter cornflake cakes which it does perfectly.
