There are currently more than one million job vacancies in the UK.

But experts warn a lack of skills is hampering recruitment.

The pandemic has also shifted attitudes to the workplace and a desk and pay packet is no longer enough to attract staff.

Traditional benefits include health insurance, childcare vouchers or a cycle to work scheme.

Now employers are coming up with snazzy benefits to attract talent and stand out.

Here are some of the new types of benefits on offer.

Free beer and a holiday

Healthy drinks brand The Naked Collective is offering a week-long trip to Los Angeles for a member of staff who can register the most samples and reviews of its new non-alcoholic brands Mude and So.Beer.

The company has a vacancy currently for an assitant brand manager.

Dogs and dinner

Digital marketing agency Embryo gives new staff a meal out with directors on their first day and an extra day off for their birthday.

It also operates a dog-friendly office so you can take your four legged friend to work with you.

The business currently has five vacancies, including for WordPress web developer and content executive.

Video games, plant deliveries, CBD and cleaning

Workplace benefits platform Juno, which lets companies give credits to staff that can be used for a workplace reward of their choice, said it has seen a spike in demand for “non-conventional” benefits.

Its research, first reported by the Evening Standard, found some of the most popular benefits now include free video game vouchers, plant deliveries, CBD products and at-home cleaning services for home offices.

Users include Indian food brand Kricket and fintech company Jigsaw XYZ.
