The £250 drop Currys is offering on the QEQ60 is a 29% discount, and in terms of sheer savings is one of the best Black Friday TV deals out there right now.
And it wasn’t that long ago that the QLED line was considered seriously high-spec.
But since the release of the Neo QLEDs at the beginning of 2021, we’ve watch the former top-of-the-line TVs start to fall in price – and all the more during Black Friday.
QLED is basically Samsung’s answer to OLED, which is still very much considered the gold standard in TV screen technology.
There’s no need to go into the science behind Samsung’s ‘quantum dot’ LED technology – ultimately it takes 4K picture quality and turns it up a notch.
You get darker darks, better levels of contrast and rich colours – plus, there’s no glare across the screen, so the picture is of the exact same quality wherever you’re sat in relation to the screen.
When QLEDs were first launched on the market, they cost firmly in the four figures.
Over the last couple of years, we’ve seen them in the upper hundreds – now, finally at Currys, you can pick up this 50-incher for just under £600.
Honestly, unless you’re seriously into cutting TV tech (and willing to pay for it), you could do far worse than this for several years to come.

The 50-inch screen size should be more than enough for most people’s living rooms (though it’s worth noting that other sizes in the line are also sale, just not with the same percentage savings).
There’s plenty else this QLED has to offer besides screen quality. You also get a built-in voice assistant – choose either Alexa, Google Assistant or Samsung’s Bixby, and you can operate the TV without using the remote.
