HOME Bargains is selling a weighted blanket that’s supposed to help you fall asleep if you have trouble drifting off.

The discounter is flogging them for £24.99 – which is almost half the price you’d pay at John Lewis.

Home Bargains is selling this weighted blanket for £24.99

An identical weighted blanket was a sell-out when Home Bargains sold it last year.

It measures 122cm by 183cm and has a weight of 15lbs, or 6.8kg.

Shoppers have been sharing their excitement over the bargain find after one Home Bargains customer spotted the weighted blanket was back in stores.

Posting on the Black Friday UK Facebook group, he said: “Weighted blanket spotted in Home Bargains for only £24.99.”

One customer replied: “Omg these look amazing.”

A second said: “I need one of these.”

A third added: “I’ve got one – it’s great but a head’s up… it’s spot clean only as the cover doesn’t come off.”

The blanket is designed to make you feel comforted in the same way as a baby being swaddled, and is supposed to be good if you’re feeling anxious.

According to researchers, it works by helping to release serotonin by applying gentle pressure across your body.

The weight of the blanket also minimises body movement, which in turn could help you stay asleep for longer.

As we haven’t tried this blanket out for ourselves, we can’t comment on its effectiveness.

Reviews have been positive on Facebook groups though, with customers saying they “love it” and it’s “worth the money”.

But you’ll want to do your research if you’re thinking about buying one for a child, as they’re not suitable for babies or children under the age of one.

Most experts recommend a blanket with a weight that is 10% of your body weight.

Home Bargains told The Sun that not all stores will have the weighted blankets in stock, but more deliveries are expected at the end of November.

It’s worth checking in with your local Home Bargains by using the online store finder tool before making the journey.

Sadly, the weighted blanket is sold out online.

Home Bargains is also selling a 99p Sleepy Spray which parents swear gets the kids to sleep in record time.

And for Christmas inspiration, Home Bargains now stocks a “waving elf” windscreen wiper for £2.

Plus, the discounter has brought back its sell-out £2.99 Christmas Eve boxes.
