If you ask me what my guilty pleasure is, I may simply answer “Instagram.” Like many of you, I’ve been using the social platform since its inception to build my personal brand. But it wasn’t until recent years that I realized just how much its branding powers exceed that of personal use. When used properly, Instagram actually has the capacity to help businesses grow significantly.
When I started to implement some of the Instagram tactics I used on my personal account to my business account, I noticed a ton of growth. Soon, I found myself being flooded with questions from fellow business owners about how they could build brand awareness through Instagram. To answer these questions, I’ve come up with some universal truths for using Instagram as an effective marketing tactic. Whether you’re late to the Instagram party or simply want to build awareness of your existing efforts, the following tips will help boost your brand’s presence like no other.

Take advantage of your strengths.
Although building your brand’s presence is not an overnight process and will require time and patience, the end result will be worthwhile. Ever noticed how celebrities have millions of followers, while some major brands in business have significantly less? People are more willing to invest time and make a personal connection with a person than they are with a brand.
