MACCIES fans who are new to its app can snap up a tasty 50% discount when they sign up.

Download the free McDonald’s app on Android or Apple and register for an account between 00.01 October 26 and 11.59pm November 1 and you’ll be given a voucher to get half price off your next order.

You must be 16 or over to qualify and you must be a new user of the app.

If you’re eligible, you’ll see the 50% off voucher appear once registered under the “Deals” section of the app. Click on the button and place your order via the app within 36 days of signing up to get the discount.

Orders placed via the app can be used for dine in, takeaway, and drive-thru at participating restaurants – see the box below for the full list of branches not taking part.

Bear in mind you can’t use the app for home deliveries via Just Eat and UberEats, so you’ll need to be able to visit your local outlet in person to participate. Use McDonald’s restaurant locator tool to check for your nearest.

No menu items are excluded from the offer and there’s no minimum spend required so you could simply get an 89p hamburger on its own, which brings the price down to 45p once the discount has been applied.

Just be aware the fast-food chain is still operating a limited menu due to having fewer staff on shifts to maintain social distancing measures.

You can also only use the discount once, so make the most of it while you can.

Users on the Hotukdeals forum who first spotted the discount report varying success – some say it’s worked while others say they had to wait a while for the discount to appear in the app.

Remember all McDonald’s branches in England, like other firms in the hospitality sector, must close by 10pm for dine-in customers each night under coronavirus curfew measures.

The rules in Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales may differ slightly as coronavirus is a devolved issue, so check first.

You can read the full terms and conditions on McDonald’s website.

If you’re already a McDonald’s app user you can, however, currently get £15 worth of food for £10 – here’s how.

The fast-food chain brought out a new breakfast roll this month for fans looking to try something new.

But not everyone was happy about it saying McDonald’s should prioritise bringing back breakfast wraps and bagels first.
