To get the cheap treat, you’ll need to have the My McDonalds app – it’s free to download to Apple and Android devices, but you need to set up an account.

You’ll be able to see the 99p offer in the “deals” section of the app.

Click on this and it will be added to your basket so when you pay you’ll only be charged 99p.

The deal is available from 11am today (February 22) for one-day only.

It is part of a new series of deals to “give the nation a little something to look forward to.”

How to find your nearest McDonald’s

MCDONALD’S has just under 1,300 branches across the UK.

To find your nearest one, you can use the free McDonald’s restaurant locator tool.

Enter your postcode and the webpage will bring up your nearest branches.

Or if you’re using the app, you’ll be asked to enter your postcode to find your local McDonald’s.

McDonald’s remains open during the second lockdown in England for drive-thru and delivery services – you can’t dine in.

The fast food restaurant also closed for walk-in takeaway orders in the third national lockdown on England.

But some branches have now reopened for this service with new safety measures in place for customers and staff.

It’s expected all locations will be up and running for picking up takeaway food in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland from today (February 22) onwards.

You can use the McDonald’s app to order drive-thru and delivery as well as click and serve, which lets you order ahead and the order is brought to you when you’re parked up outside.

You won’t be able to use the offer if you’re ordering for delivery to your home through Just Eat or Uber Eats.

The triple cheeseburger is 388 kcal. To put that into perspective, men are recommended to consume no more than 2,500 calories each day, while it’s 2,000 for women.

The sandwich comes on its own and if you want fries and a drink you’ll have to pay for that on top.

Medium fries cost £1.19 and have 337 calories, while fizzy drinks start at 89p with calorie count depending on which drink you choose.

A McDonald’s worker has revealed whether the restaurant’s much-rumoured ‘secret menu’ really does exist or not – here’s what they said.

Meanwhile this bloke is toying with the idea of becoming an Uber Eats driver – so he can get paid to eat McDonald’s.
