Of course, just because items are in a Black Friday sale, doesn’t mean you can’t find them, or something similar, cheaper elsewhere.

Always shop around before spending your money.

When is Black Friday 2020?

Black Friday falls on Friday November 27 in 2020 but many retailers jump the gun and offer deals weeks ahead.

The shopping bonanza falls on the Friday after Thanksgiving, a major holiday in the US, which is always on the fourth Thursday in November.

Bad news for Ikea fans though – the Swedish retailer did not take part in Black Friday in 2019 in the UK.

Traditionally it doesn’t participate in Black Friday in the UK but it does in the US where the deals day originated.

If that changes in 2020, we’ll keep you updated.

What discounts does Ikea have?

There are still discounts and bargains to be found all year round at Ikea beyond Black Friday.

Ikea’s summer sale launched in August in store and online and usually takes place every year.

One woman recently found a £255 sofa reduced to just £30.

Most Ikea stores in the UK also have a bargain corner where deals can be found. These have furniture and other items that are slightly damaged, ex-display models, as well as items returned by customers.

And by joining the free Ikea Family Club you can receive special discounts and other rewards, such as free tea and filtered coffee every Monday and Friday.

Ikea has a dedicated page highlighting many of its offers.

How much does Ikea delivery cost?

Ikea has several delivery options: smaller, larger and express.

Smaller delivery costs £3.95, £14.95 or £19.95, depending on your order’s size.

Delivery to an external DPD pick up point starts from £2.

Larger Ikea deliveries are priced from £39 for items that are deemed “unsuitable for parcel delivery” but the exact price can depend on what you’re buying.

Delivery cost is automatically calculated once items are in your online shopping bag, and is based on your chosen products.

A faster express delivery from certain locations starts from £49.
