DIY and homeware stores have been confirmed as essential retailers and are allowed to stay open in Tier 4 areas.

But opening and closing times over the festive season varies from normal timings shoppers are familiar with.

Homebase, which has over 150 stores, is one retailer changing some of its opening and closing times over the break.

Here’s all you need to know about when you can shop:

What are Homebase’s opening hours over New Year?

Stores opened New Year’s Eve at 9am but will close earlier at 4pm.

Shops across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland will open at 10am and close at 4pm on New Year’s Day, while stores in Scotland will remain closed. 

What were Homebase’s opening hours for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?

On Christmas Eve, all of Homebase’s stores opened at 9am and closed at 4pm. 

All stores were closed on Christmas Day.

What were Homebase’s opening hours for Boxing Day until New Year?

Homebase stores remained shut on Boxing Day. 

But stores opened as usual on the December 27 from 10am to 4pm, and from 9am to 6pm from December 28 until 30.
