CHRISTMAS is done, but the holidays aren’t over – if you need to cure your hangover with a McDonald’s over New Year, you might want to check its opening hours first.
Here, we explain the opening hours for McDonald’s during the remainder of the festive period.
Is McDonald’s open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day?
Yes – but opening times vary and lots of branches are running reduced hours.
Earlier in December, McDonald’s revealed plans to close some branches early on New Year’s Eve – as well as Christmas Eve – to give staff the time off.
So watch out for reduced hours ahead of the New Year celebrations.
It’s also worth noting that branches in Tier 3 and 4 areas are only allowed to open as a takeaway or delivery service.
You can find out the opening times of your local branch on the McDonald’s website or app.
There are around 1,300 Maccies branches in the UK.
It comes as the fast food chain brough out katsu curry chicken nuggets and reintroduced The Big Tasty to its menu on December 30.
What were McDonald’s opening hours from Christmas to New Year?
The fast food giant chose to close early on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, but branches instead stayed open later on Boxing Day.
Paul Pomroy, CEO, of McDonald’s said: “Given the extraordinary year we’ve all had, we will balance being there for you when you need us with giving our people some additional time off with their loved ones.”
McDonald’s opened 33 of its 1,300 restaurants on Christmas day.
