A DECORATOR has revealed how a common kitchen gadget could help you to stop wasting paint and get a cleaner finish.

In a recent video, they show how using a kitchen sieve to strain your paint can stop bits of sediment sticking to the surface you are painting.

They show how simply pouring the paint into a bucket, through a sieve, can remove unwanted debris from the tin.

In the video caption, The Window Restorers said: “This is why we strain our paint before every use.

“A cheap hack is to purchase a sieve from your local supermarket for £1 or so or alternatively purchase a strainer bag from a paint merchants .

“The amount of unwanted bits you collect is immense.

“Whether it’s an old tin or even brand new, you must strain before you paint, to avoid getting them annoying bits on your surface.”

You can pick up a kitchen sieve for as little as £1 at retailers like Ikea and The Range.

Alternatively, you can pick up a pack of eight paint strainer bags from Toolstation.
