More specifically, the four new items in the Worldwide Favorites Menu 2.0 are expected to include:
- Savory Ranch Burger (Mexico)
- Grand Premium Chicken Sandwich (France)
- McChicken McMuffin (Japan)
- Caramel Brownie McFlurry (Canada)
According to reports, the new Worldwide Favorites Menu 2.0 will be initially tested in approximately 100 Connecticut-based McDonald’s restaurants sometime in August. If successful, the new items will go on sale nationwide next summer.
- Cheesy Bacon Fries (Australia)
- Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich (Canada)
- Stroopwafel McFlurry (Netherlands)
- Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger (Spain)
It’s unknown at this time if all four of the current Worldwide Favorites will be replaced by the new ones, or if some or all will be retained on the menu.
Clearly, the introduction of items from its deep roster of international food offerings has been a successful marketing tool for McDonald’s–providing something new and different for its burger-centric customers.
I for one am still waiting for McDonald’s to bring its fabled Royale with Cheese to the U.S. from France. That will surely be a day of celebration for film lovers everywhere.
