MCDONALD’S fans can pick up a free cheeseburger by downloading its app – but it’s only for new users and runs out today.

The freebie, which has been on offer all this week, is for one single cheeseburger worth 99p, although prices do vary depending on your location.

McDonald’s is giving away free single cheeseburgers for new app users

As it’s only for people who’ve never downloaded the My McDonald’s app, existing users can’t claim the offer.

To get the deal, you to wait until 11am as McDonald’s is still serving breakfast until then.

After 11am, you need to download the free My McDonald’s app through the App Store or Google Play.

Once you’ve downloaded it, register for free with your email address.

You should then see the cheeseburger offer under the “deals” section of the app – click on the offer and it’ll be added to your basket.

Which McDonald’s restaurants AREN’T participating in the free cheeseburger offer?

THE following McDonald’s won’t be taking part in the free cheeseburger deal:

  • Croydon
  • Walworth Rd
  • Bham Dale End
  • Lincoln
  • Ashton-Under-Lyne
  • Lowestoft
  • Tonbridge – High Street
  • Rugby
  • Birkenhead
  • Falkirk
  • 291 Oxford St
  • Praed Street
  • Llandudno
  • Highway Shadwell
  • Charlton
  • Beccles
  • Whitehall
  • Croydon Valley Park
  • Livingston Mall
  • Eastbourne 2

  • Croydon 3 Centrale
  • West One Shopping Centre
  • Wimbledon Centre Court
  • Bracknell – The Keep
  • Chelmsford 2 Riverside
  • Greenhithe-The Railway Tavern
  • Victoria Station

You don’t need to buy anything else to claim your cheeseburger.

McDonald’s stores remain closed for dine-in customers in England, but you can still order food for takeaway or for collection via a drive-thru.

The fast food chain doesn’t charge extra when you order for click and collect through its app.

You must order your cheeseburger through the app – orders placed inside a restaurant won’t be eligible for the deal. It also isn’t available as a home delivery order.

The majority of McDonald’s 1,300 restaurants are participating in the deal but there are 28 places that won’t be.

See our box above to see locations that aren’t giving away cheeseburgers.

If you’ve never had one before, a single cheeseburger from McDonald’s contains one beef patty, cheese, pickles and onions, ketchup and mustard.

Be keep in mind that one burger does contain 290 calories.

McDonald’s recently offered 30% off its entire menu through its app but sadly this deal has now expired.

It comes as McDonald’s brought out a new breakfast roll this month for fans looking to try something new.

The fast food chain has also confirmed its Christmas menu for 2020 and it includes a double Big Mac and Celebrations McFlurry.
