THE world’s largest collection of vintage Apple devices is set to head to auction this week.
More than 500 old school devices will be up for grabs.

US-based auction house Julien’s Auctions will host the sale of “The Apples” collection.
Apple’s iPod, iPad, MacBook and other devices revolutionised the role of technology in daily life in the earlier years of the twenty-first century.
The collection contains computers and products that were produced from 1977 to 2008.
Following its launch on January 3, 1977, the Apple II became one of the first computers that was used in the business world and dominated the computer market at the time.
The Macintosh – called Mac for short – was introduced in 1984 and helped normalise computers being part of a typical desk in workplaces.
Unlike most high-end auctions, the items in the collection aren’t wildly expensive.
For example, a 1979-era Apple II Plus Computer has an estimated value of between $300 and $500.
Meanwhile, a classic 2001 iMac G3 isn’t expected to fetch more than $300.

However, the Apple Lisa 1 computer, which hit shop shelves in 1983, has already received $7,000 worth of bids.
“Julien’s Auctions is honoured to present The Hanspeter Luzi Vintage Apple Archive and its extraordinary collection of Apple products which helped to shape one of the biggest brands in the world, through their tremendous innovations and technological advancements,” said Martin Nolan, CEO of Julien’s Auctions.
“The Apples” collection will be available to view in a live exhibition at Julien’s Auctions location in Beverly Hills, California, until March 30.
The auction will take place on March 30.
