M&S shoppers can turn up the heat this Valentine’s Day with the return of the supermarket’s Love Sausage – and this time there’s a spicy one.

The supermarket has brought back the heart shaped sausage for the second year running, and has also launched a new spicy version of the popular treat.

The new Spice Up Your Love Sausage is a 488g pack of two chilli chorizo-style sausages wrapped in sweet and smoky bacon, and it will set you back £6.50.

If you’re not keen on getting so hot under the collar, or you’re looking for a cheaper sausage to get your hands on, then the classic 460g M&S Love Sausage is 50p less at £6.

You’ll get two pork sausages with a hint of truffle, wrapped in smoked bacon.

Both versions of the Love Sausages will hit stores on February 10.

Fans have hit social media to celebrate the return of the steamy snack.

One shopper said: “Ooh I love Valentine’s Day and the M&S love sausage always marks the occasion.”

Another posted she managed to add the snack to her online grocery haul.

She said: “Yay @Ocado – I just managed to add a @marksandspencer love sausage to my next delivery.”

Another said they’ll have a “Valentine’s Day to remember”, posting about plans to order the snack for a breakfast in bed treat.

The Love Sausage first launched in 2019 and has made an annual comeback in time for Valentine’s Day ever since, with some years seeing the sausage sell out in minutes

But if you think parting with at least £6 for the treat is too steep, then you might want to check out food deals other supermarkets are offering.

You can get a three course meal from Aldi for as little as £7.55 – but that doesn’t include booze.

And at Asda, you can get one starter, one main, two sides, one dessert and a bottle of drink or box of Thorntons chocolates for £15 all in.

Here’s all the ways to send Valentine’s Day cards for free to your other half.

Or if you’re planning on popping the question, Poundland confirmed it has brought back its £1 engagement rings.

It comes as the average spend on Valentine’s Day spend is a whopping £52.
