NANDO’S has got into the Christmas spirit this year by launching a new spiced clementine flavour chicken seasoning.

The fruity flavoured limited-edition sauce comes with the restaurant’s signature Peri-Peri kick.

Fans can order the flavour on all of it's mains including the meat, vegetarian and vegan options

The flavour sits under “medium” on the heat scale, so it’s not one for the lemon and herb fans.

It will replace the coconut and lemon spice, which was only added to the menu in July, as the new seasonal flavour.

The flavour can be added to any of the menu mains, including half a chicken, beanie burger or the great imitator wrap.

At the moment, the sauce is only available on restaurant orders so you won’t be able to pick up a bottle from the supermarket.

Nando’s spices

NANDO’S customers can have their chicken as mild or spicy as they like, thanks to the following seasonings.

The grilled chicken chain offers:

  • Plain… ish
  • Lemon and herb
  • Spice clementine (limited edition)
  • Medium
  • Hot
  • Extra hot

Nando’s fans can save cash on a meal by recreating the dishes at home with a bottle of the chain’s Peri-Peri sauce which can be bought on the high street.

Typically, these costs around £2.48 and come in a range of flavours available in the restaurant.

Fans can still buy bottles of the coconut and lemon spice flavour though if they still need their fix now that it’s been dropped from the menu.

It’s stocked at Asda, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Morrisons for around £2 for 250ml or £3.90 for 500ml.

Fans can order the festive clementine flavoured spice from today and it will run for a limited time – Nando’s hasn’t specified exactly when it will be removed from the menu.

All Nando’s stores in England are currently closed due to the government’s coronavirus lockdown measures but you can still order a takeaway via the website or delivery through Deliveroo.

Click and collect is free, while Deliveroo charges vary depending on what day you order and how far away you live from the restaurant.

But the Portuguese restaurant chain is kicking off the Christmas cheer early this year by waiving delivery charges on orders place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for the next three weeks.

You can find your nearest Nando’s restaurants using the locator tool. You should visit the Deliveroo app to find out if where you live is eligible for delivery.

For those in the mood for trying out new flavours, Domino’s has combined two popular end-of-a-night-out dishes and launched the new doner kebab pizza.

Pizza Hut has launched a festive pizza for Christmas, topped with chicken, bacon and stuffing, while rte KFC Christmas menu includes a burger that you can cover in gravy.

Plus, Greggs‘ famous festive bake is back for Christmas 2020.
