NASA will shortly reveal a major discovery concerning the Moon.

The US space agency announced last week that it would hold a press conference on October 26 to disclose the “exciting new discovery”.

We don’t know much about what will be revealed other than that. Nasa hinted the finding is linked to its plans to land astronauts on the Moon again.

Two astronauts – a man and a woman – will land at the lunar south pole by 2024 under what Nasa has called its Artemis programme.

According to Nasa, today’s announcement will take place at at 12.05 pm ET this afternoon (4.05pm UK time).
