NEXT, B&M and M&S have all confirmed they WON’T be doing Black Friday sales this year in a blow for shoppers.
The moves are the opposite of some of their rivals, which rolled out discounts three weeks ahead of the sale bonanza this Friday.

Black Friday, which falls on November 27 in 2020, is considered one of the biggest shopping days of the year – but not all retailers take part.
Next has confirmed to The Sun that there’ll be no Black Friday event this year, but it wouldn’t reveal the reason why it won’t be participating.
The decision to back out of Black Friday means shoppers won’t be able to get cut-price clothes and homeware this year.
In previous years, Next’s notorious sales have people queuing from as early as 6am, with savings of up to 70% off.
What is Black Friday?
BLACK Friday is one of the busiest days in the retail calendar and typically marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping period.
Stores will often launch huge sales to get customers spending, with some even opening as early as 6am to accommodate bargain hunters.

Black Friday falls on the Friday after the annual US holiday of Thanksgiving, which is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of each November.

Meanwhile, B&M has also decided to skip Black Friday this year in favour of “everyday low prices” throughout the Christmas shopping season.
A spokesperson added The Sun: “This avoids excessive crowds on any one day, many of whom are chasing largely deceptive offers that do not represent real savings, or are only available in very limited stocks.”
Last year, B&M shoppers could snap up discounts on tech and toys in its Black Friday sales with up to 60% off.
In a similar move, M&S has also said it won’t take part in Black Friday this year to focus on “great value” throughout the whole season.
The retailer told The Mirror: “We haven’t done any specific Black Friday deals for the last couple of years (in-store or online) and there are no current plans to change that.
“Our focus is offering great value throughout the whole season.”
