B&M is selling a musical doormat that plays Christmas tunes – and parents think it’s “absolutely brilliant”.

The musical doormat plays both “Jingle Bells” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”.

A sensor, which needs to be placed under the mat, will trigger off one of the songs when someone steps on the mat.

The mat is red in colour and features the words “Merry Christmas” in white writing.

After spotting one in stores, parents have been – quite literally – singing its praises.

Posting on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, one shopper said: “This is absolutely brilliant. £5 from B&M.”

Another said: “We need this!”

A third commented: “Love it put a smile on visitors’ faces.”

And a fourth joked: “The cats would set this off constantly.”

B&M is selling the doormat now in all stores for £5.

The same doormat is selling for £10.98 plus free postage on eBay, which is over double the price of what you’ll pay at B&M.

Meanwhile, a musical doormat that also lights up costs £24.99 from TK Maxx.

The doormat from B&M requires batteries to make the sensor work, but the retailer doesn’t say if they’re included.

We’ve asked for more information and we’ll update this article when we know more.

Sadly, you can’t order from B&M online – but you can use its store finder tool to locate your nearest branch.

B&M has around 600 shops across the UK.
