THE wait is over!

The Playstation 5 went on sale in the UK at 8am this morning – and just like last week’s launch of the XBox Series X and S, it sold out in most locations extremely fast.

Curry’s, Argos, John Lewis, Very and Sony were all out of stock within minutes, while the BT website crashed so stock levels there are currently impossible to check.

Gamers’ best hopes now are finding consoles on Amazon or Asda, who each released a fresh batch of stock at midday.

Both sites are currently buckling under the demand, however, so unfortunately its a matter of luck as to whether you’ll be be successful.

Keep checking this page for latest stock locations and updates.

Those fortunate enough to have secured pre-orders from GAME will in theory be able to collect their consoles in person until 2pm.

The Sun’s tech editor Sean Keach will be keeping you up-to-date with all the latest PlayStation news throughout the day, including stock levels, deals, fan reaction, tips and more.

And you can read Sean’s review of the new console, here.
