What TV and broadband deals are there in 2020?

Black Friday is a great time of year to look for a new TV or broadband deal.

All the different providers are likely to offer discounts, so if you’ve let your introductory offer slip onto a rolling contract, switching providers or getting a new package could save you a bundle

Virgin Media’s Black Friday offers mean you can snap up super-fast internet with a host of quality television from Sky and BT at a discounted rate.

Internet provider Hyperoptic has also started its Black Friday sale which allows you to get a staggering 1Gbps internet speed for £40-a-month. Check that offer out here.

It might be worth waiting until all the providers have launched their Black Friday deals before you spend your money, though.

TV and internet packages can’t sell out, so you might as well see what offers are available on Black Friday to get the best price.

When is Black Friday 2020?

Black Friday lands on November 27 in 2020, the day after Thanksgiving is celebrated in America.

Traditionally Black Friday is an American shopping event, but the trend crossed the Atlantic a few years ago and now most big retailers embrace the sales period.

The sales tend to begin around two weeks ahead of Black Friday, so it can pay off to keep a look out for deals from mid-November.

When is Cyber Monday and will Sky be taking part?

The Black Friday deals usually continue until the following Monday which is known as Cyber Monday.

That’s because it’s when retailers encourage us to go online to snap up their final bargains.

What offers will Sky have on Black Friday 2020?

If previous years are anything to go by, we’d expect Sky to cut its prices on a number of packages in 2020.

Sky Sport still has the largest number of Premier League games on its channels, so if you’re a fan, it’s worth looking out for a deal on Sky Sports.

Last year the Sports package was half price, so there’s a chance you could make a similar saving in 2020.

Or, if you can’t get your entertainment fix from Netflix, Amazon or Disney, you might well be able to find a discount on either an Entertainment package, or a Cinema bundle.

Sky Cinema was half price in 2019, so if you’re lucky, a similar discount could emerge in 2020.

What was in Sky’s Black Friday sale last year?

In 2019, Sky released a ‘Black Friday Mega Bundle’, which gave access to sports, movies, box sets and kids all for only £53.50 per month.

That was a saving of £31.50, a total of £567 over the lifetime of the contract (18 months).

Sport was half price on a 18 month package, costing just £15 per month, which represents a whopping £270 saving over the life of the contract.

And there was a larger saving to be made with the sports, cinema and entertainment package which was £42.50 per month.

That was £20.50 per month off the regular price and represented a £369 saving over the life of the contract.
