IT’S that time of year again when parents start asking me about bargain toys.
Lots of you are scouring the web to try and bag the best deals before Christmas.

I imagine This Morning’s This Morning’s Top Toys 2020 list had an effect when it aired last week. There were a few pricey toys on the list, mind, but here are some ways to get them for less.
Price it right: Price comparison sites pricespy.co.uk and idealo.co.uk are my favourites at this time of year. If you like the Gotta Go Flamingo (yes, it really is a flamingo that is potty training) which should cost £32.99, I used these sites to find it at, of all places Rymans.co.uk for £29.99. Delivery is £3.95, which should be taken into account, but it’s still the cheapest and you can click and collect at Ryman’s stores to save on added fees.

Collect your points: The VTech Kidizoom Studio camera and tripod could be a bit of an investment if you’re planning on turning your little one into the next big YouTube star. But it’s not cheap at £59.99 RRP. Add value by picking it up at Argos.co.uk and collect 250 Nectar points, which is worth £1.25.

Cash it back: Nintendo Switch fans will want the Mario Kart: Home Live Circuit but it has a £99.99 price tag. I have been keeping an eye on savings around Black Friday but haven’t seen much yet. But when you can’t find a discount, you can usually find cashback. Amazon.co.uk might be the cheapest at the RRP which includes delivery. But head to Very.co.uk via Quidco.com and new Very customers can get 12 per cent cashback on the total price of £103.98 (£99.99 + £3.99 delivery fee). It might take up to three months to get it into your account, but that’s £12.36 back. If you’re spending more, make sure you use Mymoneypocket.co.uk, Topcashback.co.uk and Quidco.com to compare all three and earn cashback.

Guarantee your price: Make sure you get yourself the best price possible by taking advantage of price guarantees. The Early Learning Centre and The Entertainer (thetoyshop.com) are covering 500 toys until 24 December and if a competitor offers a lower price, they’ll give you the difference as an e-card to spend with them.
