STARBUCKS is giving away free coffees to rail and NHS staff tomorrow to say thanks for their hard work during the coronavirus crisis.

Available on Monday, December 14, all transport workers carrying a Rail Staff Travel (RST) card can order a free tall filter coffee from the chain.

Rail Staff Travel offers discounts and free transport for workers of the rail industry and eligible family members.

The Starbucks freebie is also available to NHS staff, first responders and care workers as long as they show their work identity card.

The free tall filter coffees, which typically cost from £1.60 each, are available from any Starbucks branch in England, Scotland or Wales.

To get it, you’ll need to order it in person from your nearest Starbucks branch, as it’s not available on mobile orders nor deliveries.

Sadly, workers can only get one free coffee each at the chain.

You can find your nearest Starbucks branch by using its store locator tool.

The giveaway coincides with last day of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Royal train tour of the UK, and is part of Starbucks’ NHS Charities Together Christmas fundraising campaign.

NHS Charities Together is a federation of over 250 charitable organisations that support the NHS, its staff, volunteers and patients.

Last week, the Duke and Duchess were also named joint patrons of the federation – the couple’s first joint patronage beyond their own Royal Foundation.

Ellie Orton, chief executive of NHS Charities Together, said: “We are grateful for our ongoing relationship with Starbucks.

“Their offer to provide NHS, first responders, transport and care workers a free coffee is a continuation of the appreciation everyone has for the people who are integral to keeping the country on its feet.”

Starbucks’ Christmas menu for 2020 includes a gravy layer sandwich and truffle hot chocolate.

Last month, a Starbucks fan shared a hack which lets you order a drink that tastes just like a Kinder Bueno.

Starbucks baristas have also lifted the lid on what it is really like working at the famous coffee chain – including there being no secret menu.
