TESCO is giving out £5 vouchers to loyal Clubcard customers, but not everyone will be sent one.

The supermarket has surprised shoppers with the vouchers in an aim to make their “Christmas extra-special this year”.

The £5 bonus can be used towards your grocery shopping in store or online, which will come in handy if you’re strapped for cash this winter.

Sadly, Tesco told The Sun the vouchers are only sent to customers who’ve been members of its Clubcard loyalty scheme for more than ten years.

Eligible shoppers also need to be signed up to Tesco’s Christmas Saver scheme, or use the supermarket’s Christmas Saver “top-up”.

The Christmas Saver scheme allows customers to save all their Clubcard points throughout the year to use on their Christmas Shop.

While the top-up lets shoppers boost their savings at the end of their shop in store to carry forward to Christmas.

A shopper in the Latest Deals, Extreme Couponing and Bargains Group on Facebook shared her voucher yesterday and wrote: “For anyone with a Clubcard, Tesco is sending these thank you gift cards.

“It might just help a little towards Christmas.”

The post has racked up more than 700 comments from other Tesco shoppers, with plenty of others having received the Christmas bonus too.

One user said: I’ve just checked the app and I’ve got one… Thanks for the heads up.”

While another added: “I received mine this morning too, every little penny counts.”

But others haven’t been as lucky, with one user saying: “I’ve not got one yet. I spent a fortune in Tesco as well.”

And a second tagged her friend and wrote: “I mean we have got to be the most frequent customers lol so hope we get one!”

Tesco is yet to confirm whether all vouchers have already been sent out, either via post or through the app, so we’ll update this article once we hear back.

The supermarket also hasn’t yet clarified the end-date for the vouchers, although the ones posted on social media are valid until January 31, 2021.

To use the voucher in store, you scan the paper coupon or the online version on the app when you get to the till.

Alternatively, if you’re shopping online, enter the code that’s on the voucher when you get to the checkout.

If you aren’t yet a Clubcard customer, you won’t be able to get the £5 voucher.

But if you’re a regular Tesco shopper, it could be worth signing up to the scheme for potential bonuses in future.

You can sign up to the Clubcard scheme for free and earn points every time you shop that can later be exchanged for money-off vouchers.

Shoppers are given one point for every £1 spent and each Clubcard point is worth 1p when you shop.

A Tesco shopper was this week left shocked after receiving a Clubcard addressed to Mr T*T W**K.

Shoppers were also fuming on Friday after being forced to wait for more than an hour to secure a delivery slot for Christmas.

Meanwhile, shoppers have praised Tesco’s “hilarious” Christmas ad where the naughty list is scrapped.
