WETHERSPOONS is known for its cheap pub grub, but people are only just realising the pub chain has made a big change to its prices.

The chain has more than 800 pubs across the country and employs more than 42,000 people.

But despite this, lots of people still don’t know the pub chain has made a huge change to its menu to save punters even more cash.

Wetherspoons launched its January sale earlier this week and punters can get a pint for less between up to January 17,

Discounts vary, as the pubs price their drinks differently.

But the average sale prices across all of its pubs include a pint of Bud Light at £1.99, a pint of Doom Bar at £1.99 and classic cocktails at £2.99.

Regulars have already taken to social media to say they didn’t realise the deal had been introduced.

One Spoons fan wrote: “Wow, Wetherspoons is having a January sale!”

A second Facebook user added: “A Wetherspoons January sale, who knew?!”

While a third tagged their friend and said: “Let’s go let’s go let’s gooooooooo.”

Here is a list of some of the drinks that will be reduced in price:

  • Doom Bar
  • Bud Light
  • Worthington’s, Stowford Press Apple Cider
  • Budweiser, spirits
  • AU vodka (four flavours)
  • Sidemen XIX Vodka (mixed berry)
  • Classic cocktails (Espresso Martini, Strawberry Daiquiri and Tommy’s Margarita)
  • Corona seltzers (raspberry & lemon and guava & lime)
  • Diet Pepsi
  • Pepsi Max
  • R. White’s lemonade
  • Pepsi Max cherry)
  • Lavazza coffee (with free refills, as well as tea and hot chocolate)

Customers will be able to get discounts on food, including breakfasts, small plates and burgers.

A small breakfast that includes a fried egg, bacon, sausage, baked beans and toast – will be reduced to £1.99.

Small plates such as halloumi-style fries and nachos will also be available, with any three for £12.

A selection of burgers will be included in the sale, including the American burger, classic beef burger, crunchy chicken strip burger and the skinny beef burger

All burgers are served chips apart from the skinny burger, which comes with a side salad.

They cost £4.99 with a soft drink and £6.46 with an alcoholic drink.

Other ways to save money at Wetherspoons

If you don’t feel like indulging in the January offer, don’t worry there are plenty of other opportunities you can save with Spoons.

The popular chain holds events throughout the year when fans can grab some grub and a few drinks for less.

You can usually find details of the events on the website, so keep your eyes peeled.

You can also sometimes get leaflets with deals and events on from your local boozer.

As well as its Autumn festival, Spoons also holds a 12-day Real Ale Festival every Spring.

It usually begins in the final week of March and ends at the beginning of April.

Every year, Spoons holds its Tax Equality Day to highlight the benefits of a permanently reduced tax bill for the pub industry.

It usually takes place in September, and this year it fell on Thursday, September 14.
