There are 20 hidden hearts in the John Lewis ad

The retailer want to hammer home this message so they’ve packed it full with heart-shaped symbols.

They are raising money for charity this year and want to get at least £4million to donate to two charities.

These are FairShare, which helps stop food poverty and Home-Start, which works with parents who need support.

But hidden in the advert are 22 different heart-shapes.

Some are more obvious, such as the heart-shaped umbrella or the snow shaped in a heart that saves the snowman.

While there are lots of more subtle signs hidden in each scene.

We’ve got the full list below but watch the video first and let us know if you can spot them all.

Below are 16 pictures, featuring a total of 22 hearts. Scroll down to the box to reveal where they are hidden.

The adverts – which went live on social media channels at 7am this morning – will first be broadcast on TV tomorrow evening during ‘The Voice’ on ITV.

A range of ‘Give A Little Love’ merchandise, including a heart shaped umbrella like the one in the ad, with all profits going to the appeal.

But John Lewis shoppers may be disappointed as some items have already sold out.

John Lewis also says this year’s ad cost less to make than others – but it plans to spend just as much as other years on making sure its spreads awareness of the campaign.

The advert features an original track – the first time John Lewis has done this – written and performed by British soul singer Celeste.

John Lewis also said the ad nearly didn’t get made this year.

The retail giant said it had considered shelving the production of its highly-anticipated annual marketing campaign but said charity partners persuaded it to go ahead.

John Lewis said it hopes the campaign, which will run under the strapline “Give a little love”, will support families in need over Christmas.

John Lewis and Waitrose & Partners are on a mission to raise £4m for charities plus £1m for local charities this Christmas and we need your help to give a little love
