But there’s good news if you do hate your yearbook snaps – thanks to artificial intelligence (AI), you now have the chance to recreate them.
A new social media trend is allowing users to reimagine their high school yearbook photos, but with a glam 90s twist.
The AI generator is capable of transforming you into over 60 different personas, so you can live out your dream of being captain of the football team or see what you’d look like as a preppy cheerleader.

Several influencers and celebrities have hopped on the trend, sharing their own AI generated snaps on social media.
Actress Kiki Palmer was the latest to join in with the fun, sharing her photos to Instagram with the caption ‘Idk y’all.. I feel like mine ain’t me fr’ with laughing emojis.
One commenter joked: ‘Baby that’s Nene Palmer’, while another added: ‘The one with the stack of books and the hair laid?! Baby girl had time to study and pull a look!’
YouTuber James Charles also shared his AI-generated snaps, with the caption ‘I’m scared’.
One fan commented: ‘Why is it giving Ross from Friends hahahahha’, and another quipped: ‘WHY are the first three mouths like that’.
Beauty guru Bretman Rock and YouTuber Hila Klein also jumped on the trend, with Hila writing ‘My mom finally sent me some old photos’.
Hila’s photos were so convincing that commenters were left questioning if they were real.
One user wrote: ‘Are these real or AI???? Huge slay. I’m obsessed with the first’.
Meanwhile, another fan joked: ‘You truly haven’t changed a bit!’
However, Bretman was less impressed with his result, captioning the images: ‘Yalll I’m DYING. who are these people?
‘Like girl I can’t believe I paid twice for this, Miss.AI can’t comprehend my beauty I guess lol…And why do they all look like how I imagined my sisters kids to look grown’.

If you want to take part yourself, you’ll need to download the AI photo editing app ‘Epik AI’.
It’s available on both the App Store and Google Play store and is free to download.
However, despite there being some free AI images you can create, for the yearbook photos you will need to pay £3.99 for 24-hour delivery or £5.99 to get the snaps in just two hours.
When you open the app, select the option ‘AI Yearbook’ and upload eight to 12 photos of yourself and select your gender.
It’s important to note that the images need to be clear and well-lit – try not to pick photos that are blurry or where you’re really far away from the camera.
The app also advises to include a variety of angles and facial expressions for the most accurate result.
