OT feeling so rosé? Perk yourself up with the nation’s latest favourite tipple — pink prosecco.
Until recently, the Italian Prosecco Council said a drink can only use the name if it has at least 85 per cent Glera grapes.
That meant fizz classed as prosecco was always white — but not anymore. Here are my savvy ways to enjoy the new blush.
LIDL BIT OF A STEAL: Lidl’s sparkling pale pink wine is one of the cheapest. Grab a bottle for just £6.49 while stocks last — it’s less than Sainsbury’s where it sells for £10.
SAVING: £3.51
SPARKS A TREND: Grab a bottle of Marks & Spencer’s pink prosecco for £10, available now online and in store. From November 17, M&S shoppers will also be able to buy a mini 20cl bottle for £3.80, and a magnum for £18 — the equivalent of two normal bottles, saving £2 for the same amount.
SAVING: £2 when buying a magnum
THE PERFECT GIFT: For a little extra oomph, check out Pink Prosecco. Presented in striking black and pink designer bottles, it is great for gifts or family at-home gatherings. To order from pinkprosecco.com, you need to buy a minimum of three bottles for £30 (£10 each). Nab free delivery when buying more than six bottles with the code FREEPINKDELIVERY at checkout.
SAVING: £3.50 on delivery
ASDA BE NICE: Asda is selling its Rosé Prosecco for just £6.50. The popular supermarket has price-matched budget retailers Lidl and Aldi — while remaining cheaper than M&S. There is also a great-value deal offering three bottles of selected wines for just £15 — saving up to £3. Perfect for preparing for Christmas.
