GIFFGAFF is offering people free pizza this week even if you’re not a customer.
The network provider is giving away 1,000 takeaways via Deliveroo on Friday.

It’s aimed at those affected by mid-contract price rises in April, with big names like EE, Virgin Media O2, Sky, Vodafone and TalkTalk set to raise contract bills.

Providers normally hike their prices annually based on the rate of inflation plus up to 3.9% more.
December’s CPI figure (4%) or January’s RPI figure (4.9%) are used by many mobile and broadband companies to hike prices.

The increases will come into effect for millions of customers on March 31 or April 1.
Giffgaff says it is one of the few networks that won’t be raising its prices mid-contract and wants to soften the blow for those affected.

The firm has pledged not to introduce any mid-contract price rises on 18 month contracts purchased before the end of 2024.
As part of the promotion, only 1,000 pizzas will be on offer worth £17.65.

People interested will have to enter via Giffgaff’s Instagram page, @giffgaffmobile.
In the comment section, you must answer the question: “What will giffgaff not do?”
The answers to choose from are either “1) Increase your mobile bill mid-contract” or “2) Giveaway pizzas”.

Entrants must answer with 1 or 2 followed by a pizza emoji to be in the chance of winning one of 1,000 free pizzas.
Ash Schofield, CEO of Giffgaff, says: “As the network committed to no mid-contract price rises, we wanted to bring some much-needed joy to those impacted by mobile price rises coming in April.
“While we can’t prevent the price rises brought in by other networks in the industry, we decided we could treat the nation in a different way – with their favourite takeaway instead.”
How does text-to-switch work?
TEXT-to-switch makes it quicker and easier to leave your mobile company by giving you control over how much contact you have with your existing provider.
This is how it works:
Text ‘PAC’ to 65075 – and keep your mobile number
- Text ‘PAC’ to 65075 to start the process
- The existing provider will text back within a minute and send the PAC number which will be valid for 30 days
- The provider’s reply must also include information about any early termination charges or pay-as-you-go balances
- The customer then gives the PAC number to their new provider
- The new provider must arrange for the switch to complete within one working day
