A WOMAN has revealed how she lived in a derelict tin shed for a decade.
Catrina Davies is an author and songwriter who decided to ditch her rented property to live in an abandoned office in Cornwall.

Catrina decided to to return to her roots in Penzance and move into an abandoned shed while she navigated her way back into local life.
But what began as a temporary refuge soon became a long-term solution to the sky-rocketing renting costs.
Catrina Davies said: “I was living in a shared house, I found it quite stressful because I wasn’t doing anything apart form working to pay the rent. But I couldn’t see how to change it.”
The shed used to belong to her dad in the 90s who used it as an office before his business went bankrupt.

She added: “I remembered about this place which at that time was a dilapidated, abandoned, corrugated iron shack, which at that time was my dad’s office before he went bankrupt in the 90s.
“I thought I’d go and stay in it just to give myself a breather. I’ve been here for nearly 10 years on and off constantly since 2013.”
To sustain her modest lifestyle, she takes on cleaning and gardening jobs across the area while pursuing her creative passion.
The tiny property boasts a room with very little furniture.

If she needs to use the toilet, Ms Davies has to step out of the shed even when winter hits.
Her kitchen is a camping cooker she bought a decade ago for only £20.
‘GUILT-FREE’
Despite the harsh conditions, the gardener said she still finds solace in the warmth of the wood burner.
She said: “One of the things I really like about living here is having to go outside all the time.
“I have to go outside t use the toilet and to brush my teeth. I’m in and out all the time because it’s tiny in there and there’s loads of space out and I love being in the garden and growing food.”
Davies admitted she still enjoys her modest means as it is an opportunity to lead a life “low of guilt”.
She added: “I wouldn’t say that I am poor but I don’t have very much money. But actually you do so much less damage if you don’t have enough money to do damage with.
“So I’m lucky because I’ve fallen into this lifestyle that is low on guilt and really nice.”
