What is Discovery Plus?

Discovery Plus is a relatively new streaming service.

It’s owned by Discovery Inc, the brand behind the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, the Science Channel and TLC.

Discovery Plus first launched in India in March 2020.

But it’s since made its way to the USA, UK and several other European countries.

What content does Discovery Plus include?

Discovery Plus showcases original and previously-aired content from its roster of channels.

These include:

  • Discovery Channel
  • Animal Planet
  • Science Channel
  • TLC
  • Food Network
  • HGTV
  • Travel Channel

There are more than 50 original shows and over 55,000 episodes of telly available.

New shows include:

  • American Detective with Lt. Joe Kenda
  • Amy Schumer Learns to Cook: Uncensored
  • BattleBots: The Bounty Hunters
  • House Hunters: Comedians on Couches Unfiltered
  • Judi Dench’s Wild Borneo Adventures

Discovery Plus price – how much does it cost?

Discovery Plus is reasonably cheap compared to rivals.

It starts at $4.99 a month for the basic tier with ads.

However, there’s an ad-free version available too for $6.99 a month.
