A driver has been slammed for parking their diesel-powered ute in an electric vehicle charging station in a multi-level carpark.
A fed-up Aussie shared a photo of the Volkswagen Amarok to Reddit with the caption: ‘Ute parked in one of the 5 Ev charging slots. Typical ute driver behaviour.’
Motorists were quick to criticise the ‘selfish’ act.
‘Seriously, why do people do this?,’ one person said.
Another said: ‘Are there any consequences for their actions? If not, then perhaps there should be’.
‘Sometimes you’ve got to get to know someone to figure out they’re a t***. Other times they’ll tell you without a word being spoken,’ a third added.

In November 2022, the New South Wales government introduced a new law which sees drivers fined up to $2200 for illegally parking in an electric vehicle charging spot.
The fines apply to drivers who leave petrol or diesel vehicles in spaces designated for electric cars in an act known as ‘ICEing’, in reference to internal combustion engine cars.
The fine also applies to parking an electric vehicle in a charging station but not charging it.
Other states have also introduced fines for the act, with drivers in the ACT potentially fined up to $3,200, while in Queensland it could cost up to $2,875.
In Victoria, misusing an electric vehicle charging space can cost drivers $369.
