It’s often best to plan ahead and use a comparison tool to find the best deal.

How do I order travel money online through Morrisons?

First, head over to morrisonstravelmoney.com and use the currency converter to select the currency you want.

Over 50 different currencies are available including Euros, US and Australian dollars, Turkish lira, yen, dirham, rupees and Thai baht.

You will then need to add your currency to a shopping cart and pay online.

When you buy currency with Morrisons Travel Money, you can choose to click and collect your order or have it delivered to your door.

For home delivery orders, Morrisons can only deliver to the billing address registered to your payment card.

Online, you can order a minimum of £200 worth of currency and a maximum of £2,500 worth.

Click and collect orders can be ready in as little as 60 seconds subject to availability.

For home delivery, if an order is placed before 2:30pm, your currency will arrive the next working day. Weekend delivery is also available.

How can I get the best currency rates?

Currency exchange rates are always changing but there are a few things you can do to find the best deals.

  • Don’t buy cash at the airport – you’ll always be able to beat the rate with a bit of forward planning. Buying foreign currency ahead of travelling means you’re given time to search for the best rates. One major thing to avoid is buying cash at the airport on the day, as exchange rates can be around 20% higher than normal.
  • Compare travel money companies online  Factor in delivery costs and choose the option that gives you the most cash to spend on holiday. If you’ve left it until the last minute order online for airport collection so you get the best of both worlds.
  • Use comparison tools – Compare travel money companies as these will show you how to get the best rates and any possible fees you might have to pay. MoneySavingExpert’s TravelMoneyMax enables you to compare pick-up and pre-order rates.
  • Don’t pay for travel money with a credit card – it’s likely you’ll be charged a cash withdrawal fee which adds to the cost.
  • Top up a prepaid card to lock in your rate now – Choose your card and read the T&Cs carefully as some apply hefty fees. WeSwap, FairFX and Caxton FX are all worth checking out.
  • Always choose to pay in the local currency rather than sterling – This will help you avoid sneaky exchange fees.
