One father found himself in the debacle after he refused to buy his 11-year-old daughter the latest Apple iPhone 15 Max Pro, which costs $1,119.
The young girl – who owned an older version – had asked for a new smartphone, as her friends all have one, but the battle began when her dad suggested an iPhone 13.
‘My daughter got mad at me and said I was ruining her life and that her best friend has a 15 Pro Max,’ he shared in a Reddit post with more than 9,500 comments from others who are running to his aid.

The unnamed user, Able_Texas5286, explained his daughter has been asking for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, saying ‘all her friends have new phones.’
He believed the iPhone 13 was ‘a good option’ due to its decent camera and battery life.
‘She specifically wanted the iPhone 15 pro max because apparently’ it plays console-level games and has a 120hz display,’ reads the post.
‘My daughter is a gamer and has always complained about her phone not being able to game properly as it’s old.’
While the young girl insisted on the latest smartphone, her parents saw it as a waste of money.
