The world’s fastest roller coaster is set to take thrill seekers for a three-minute ride around a massive track while ‘achieving unprecedented speeds’ of 155 miles per hour.

Called ‘Falcon’s Flight,’ the amusement ride is under development at the Six Flags Qiddiya in the Middle East, which is set to open in Saudi Arabia in 2023.

The roller coaster is planned to have a 2.5 mile-long track that takes riders around curves, loops and a vertical cliff into a 525-foot deep valley.

Six Flags Quiddiya is set to be constructed in a massive cannon, about 40 miles of the capital Riyadh, and will be home to 28 attractions – but Falcon’s Flight will be the centerpiece of the park.

The park is being constructed by Quiddya Investment Company, in partnership with the US-based Six Flags.

And although there are tons of rides around Six Flags Quiddiya, Falcon’s Flight is the main attraction, CNN Travel reported.

The roller coaster, according to Quiddya Investment Company, will ‘be the world’s tallest free-standing coaster structure, featuring a parabolic airtime hill allowing a weightlessness airtime experience.’

The ride uses magnetic motor acceleration, also known as LSM technology, which is a form of electro-magnetic propulsion and typically launch the roller coaster from the station extremely quickly – transportation trains are designed with the same technology.

Falcon’s Flight fits a maximum of 20 passengers who zip around the track topping speeds of 155 miles per hour and there is also a vertical portion of the ride that takes riders up 525 feet and drops, making them feel as if they are falling off a cliff.

Currently, Kingda Ka roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey holds the title for the tallest in the world.

The Formula Rossa at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates is the fastest traveling at 149 miles per hour.

And Japan’s Steel Dragon 200, located in Japan’s Nagashima Spa Land amusement is deemed the world’s longest roller coaster at 1.54 miles.

However, when the Falcon’s Flight is finished in 2023 it will take all three of these titles.

The record-breaking roller coaster will be part of the City of Thrills, along with Sirocco Tower, which will be the world’s tallest drop-tower ride.

The other five themed lands in the park include The City of Thrills, Discovery Springs, Steam Town, Twilight Gardens, Valley of Fortune and Grand Exposition.

There is also a central hub area, called The Citadel, which will be covered by a huge canopy modelled on traditional Bedouin tents in a bid to relate to the desert location.

The first Six Flags was launched in Texas in 1961, with it opening a further 19 parks across North America and another set to open in China next year.
